MacBook (2016) helped Apple increase sales of laptops by 30%

Analytical agency TrendForce published statistics that reveal the volume of shipments of Apple notebooks in the second quarter of this year. It is alleged that the total sales of 12-inch MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro in June 2016 amounted to 3.3 million units, while in March the same year, the figure was only 2.5 million laptops. More than 30% growth TrendForce connects with the release of a new model of the 12-inch Apple MacBook in April. Ultra-thin laptop has received a new processor skylake, graphics Intel HD 515 system, fast PCIe data storage and longer battery life.

With such a sharp jump in shipments of notebooks, Apple share on the market of all for the quarter increased from 7.1% to 8.6%, Acer shifting to sixth place. However, the company showed a pullback to 23.4% compared to the same period last year, according to the results of the first half of 2016. Market leaders are still Lenovo, HP, Dell and ASUS, and for Apple and Acer followed by Samsung and Toshiba.

Another factor explaining the increase in Apple market share is seasonal shipping large batches of devices at the beginning of the school year eve. In the autumn the company can significantly upgrade the range of devices by introducing a new line of MacBook Pro with processors skylake, a Thunderbolt port, and 3 USB Type-C, fingerprint scanner Touch ID and sensory area for the control of laptop functions. The top models are expected appearance of AMD Polaris graphics chips.
The first presentation of the autumn of Apple is scheduled for 6 and 7 September.
